Welcome to the Young Lawyers Section of the MSBA!
The purpose of the Young Lawyers Section is to provide young lawyers with education, social activities, networking opportunities, opportunities to do community service, and representation in the Maryland State Bar and American Bar Associations.
In addition to providing such opportunities for young lawyers, it is the goal of the Section to increase diversity within the entire Bar and to provide leadership opportunities to members who may not otherwise have access to such opportunities. The Section strives to provide new and innovative programs that will benefit young lawyers in Maryland and the District of Columbia personally and professionally. We try to assist new lawyers make the transition between law school and the practice of law.

REMINDER: MSBA’s Young Lawyers Section’s Mentoring Program is looking for more Mentors!!!
Qualifications: You must be a barred attorney in good standing (in any state), have practiced for at least 5 years, and are a YLS member.
Prospective Mentees: Maryland’s newly admitted attorneys! They will be very grateful for your time and mentorship.
Duration of Program: This is only a 6-month commitment and we suggest that you meet with your Mentees at least 3 times during this period.
Deadline: January 19, 2015!

Applications for Officer Positions within the MSBA Section of Young Lawyers
The Nominating Committee of the Maryland State Bar Association Section of Young Lawyers is accepting applications for the following YLS positions for the 2015-2016 bar year.
Applications may be made by anyone who is a member of the MSBA Section of Young Lawyers at the commencement of the upcoming bar year and who will be a member of the Section throughout the 2015-2016 bar year. Any applicant who is interested in a position may submit an application to Nathaniel K. Risch, Chair, Nominating Committee, MSBA Section of Young Lawyers, 520 West Fayette Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201. Applications may also be submitted via email to Angela Munro at email@example.com. All applications must be received at Bar Headquarters or via email no later than the 5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, January 15, 2015. Applications should include a statement of interest, a resume, and a list of Bar activities.
