Family and Juvenile Law
Message
from the Chair
Happy
Holidays. Please check out the new Top
Ten for Child Support Hearings. It makes a great check list for upcoming
hearings. The Family & Juvenile Law Section Council has a wonderful Mentoring
Program, where we pair experienced attorneys with less experienced attorneys
to help them navigate the complicated morass of courts, filings, and issues
in family law matters. This can be a great resource for attorneys stepping
off the cliff into family law cases. I strongly suggest newly admitted
attorneys or those new to family law, to avail themselves of an opportunity
to discuss their cases, and to bounce ideas off of an experienced attorney. Please
contact me and our committee will set you up with a match.
As has
been a frequent topic on the Listserv, please be careful of any requests for
services over the internet. There have been several cases in Maryland
where attorneys have been scammed for thousands and thousands of dollars. Many
of these scams mention real people, and may even refer to real cases. Generally
speaking, if it sounds too good – it is.
Have a
wonderful and relaxing holiday season, and best wishes for a prosperous New
Year.
