Sixty Plus Legal Program
The Elder Law Section co-sponsors the Sixty Plus Legal Program (preparation
of simple wills, advance directives, and deeds for seniors with low
and moderate incomes) and the Medical Assistance Long Term Care
Representation Program (representation of individuals improperly
denied nursing home Medicaid coverage).
The Sixty Plus Legal Program, for all parts of the state except Baltimore County, Baltimore City, and Montgomery County is administered by The Legal Aid Bureau's Maryland Senior Legal Helpline. Lawyers who want to volunteer to help seniors in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, or Montgomery County should call the local bar association of that jurisdiction (see phone numbers below). Lawyers who want to volunteer in all other counties should call William Stokes at 410-951-7766 or 1-800-999-8904 ext. 7766.
Seniors who want to obtain services should call:

in Montgomery County - (301) 279-9100, and

Assisted Living in Maryland: What You Need to Know
The Elder Law Section in conjunction with the
Legal Aid Bureau's Assisted Living Project, the Maryland Attorney General's
Office, the Maryland Department of Aging, The Maryland Department of Health
and Mental Hygiene, the Maryland Department of Human Resources and the Law
and Health Care Program of the University of Maryland School of Law, has
put together a 73 page book Assisted
Living in Maryland, What You Need to Know. The publication
was created to help individuals and families make smart and informed choices
about assisted living facilities in Maryland.

Disaster Plan -
Legal Guide for Victims of Mass Disasters- This information is a public
service provided by the Maryland State Bar Association and the American Red
Cross.
Fee
Disputes -
The MSBA's Committee on the Resolution of Fee Disputes is a public service
for clients who have a fee dispute with their attorney.
Lawyer Referral Services - Many
counties in Maryland provide lawyer referral services for individuals looking
for an attorney. Listed here are the counties which provide lawyer referral
services. Please contact these counties directly for information.
Legal Information Brochures -
The Maryland State Bar Association offers a series of easy-to-read guides
designed to inform the public about common legal problems. These brochures
are free to the public. The public may order up to 100 copies of a brochure.

Pro Bono Resource Center
of Maryland -
The mission of the Pro Bono Resource Center is to ensure equal access
to justice to Maryland's poor through volunteer legal services. This
mission is accomplished by matching volunteer attorneys with legal services
organizations dedicated to serving the unrepresented.
Speakers' Bureau -
Over 150 attorneys across the state volunteer their time and knowledge to
speak to community and civic groups and associations and schools on a variety
of topics from a general legal perspective. The MSBA will assist you in locating
and scheduling an appropriate speaker for your group's unique needs and concerns.
